Stamp Account:
So, let's see what I've heard, and what I've SEEN about D&D 4.0 now that I've been through the 4th ed. player's handbook.
I heard the mechanics were better.
I've seen that they've dumbed it down and limited the options you have for playing the kind of character you want to play.
I've heard they opened it up to a broader interest.
I've seen that they got rid of every class I actually liked, and cut down the variety of customizability for each class, while adding the warlock and completely changing the tiefling to a semi-draenei ripoff in a blatant move to draw in WoW players.
Oh, yes, and INVITING people to play such outlandish things as Tieflings, Dragonborn (think like a dragon anthro) and Eladrin (overpowered super-elves that only that would make the elves of Lorien jealous.) (oh, and yes, Eladrin used to be the name for a kind of celestial)
Meanwhile, I now get marked as an idiot for thinking of a tiefling as a plantouched... something it has been for about 30 or so years...
The only "real" tiefling, is the one that came out this year apparently, and obviously people who have been playing the game since the days of THAC0 have no clue about D&D and need to do their research better.
And now, many alignments don't exist. Neutrals? No, they're undecided. Apparently a judge, a thief, and a druid all share the same alignment of "I don't know what I believe".
Lawful Good and Good are the only Goods now. There are no such things as rebels with a cause, just holier than-thous and plain good folk.
Lawful Evil dominators? Nope. You can either be invariably evil, or a chaotic madman.
Seriously, it's like D&D for dummies and MMORPG addicts with no imagination.
Obviously I'm not D&D's target audience anymore, so it can just continue on its merry way to eventually becoming a 2 hour board game.
I'll just stick with my 3.5, thank you.

You know what Kathy? If you were Jesus' mother, he would have nailed himself to the cross!
I already refused to change to WoD 2.0, and I think I'll stick too with D&D 3.5
